Henney Penney & Chicken Little
While writing both the Goldilocks and The Three Pigs stories I wondered about how the world changed from talking animals to the situation we have today. This was, originally, just a story about how the animals lost their ability to talk to humans. That, it seems, evolved into what some may consider a parable. Neither the original Henney Penney nor the original Chicken Little have happy endings. This story, likewise, does not have a happy ending. Still, I thought it to be worthwhile.

The Magic Fruit
(About 2310 words/ 9-12 minutes read time.) We know this story–or we think we do. C. S. Lewis did a great job with “Perelandra”…but I wanted to look at the story from Adam’s viewpoint. I was surprised when I reread the story that God did not tell Eve to avoid the tree, He only told Adam. And, of course, the talking animals are my fantasy…but the Bible does tell us that the ‘snake’ did talk. I began writing this before 2010 and finished it in 2017. It should have nothing theological that is not orthodox. However, you should read it for entertainment. It is not scripture. As I say elsewhere, read it as historical fiction.
Walking On Oil
This story is adapted from an old legend. Many years ago I read that St. John was tortured by being boiled in oil, but that he survived. (About 2260 words/ 9-12 minutes read time.)
The Three Little Pigs

Goldilocks
This is the first Talking Animal story. It’s fun to visit old favorite stories and revise them. Shakespeare did it. Walt Disney did it. I had a lot of fun doing it. I hope you enjoy my version.
